Dora the Explorer is an American animated television series that is featured on the Nickelodeon cable television network and Noggin.Dora is an adventurous, bilingual, Latina heroine who lives in a house with her mother and father. She is positive, helpful and caring. Dora explores the world with her faithful Backpack, Map and her best friend Boots the monkey. Dora is a problem solver who doesn't give up when faced with challenges. In each episode, Dora goes on an exploration trip to find something or help somebody. Viewers at home are always asked to help her find new ways to get to places with the help of Map. Children are also asked to be active participants, not just by answering questions, but by being active and moving their bodies. Every episode incorporates 7 different learning "intelligences" such as logical/mathematical, musical/auditory, and bodily/kinaesthetic as well as Spanish words and phrases.
